Stevia Extract at dinner can make a difference

San Antonio TX. According to the Global Stevia Institute (GSI), of all the world cuisines, Chinese is arguably one of the most diverse and enticing. Chinese cuisine hits on all the tastes, from spicy and hot to sweet, sour, salty and bitter.

However, a typical Chinese dinner, composed by ½ cup (93 grams) of white rice; 3 ounces (89 grams) of Mapo Doufo – tofu and ground beef, cooked in a spicy red chili pepper sauce –; 3.5 ounces (103 grams) of Tang Cu Li Ji – pork strips with carrots, green pepper, bamboo shoots and mushrooms in spicy sweet and source sauce; half cup (109 grams) of Gan Bian Si Ji – dry-fried green beens –; and 1 (67 grams) Danta – mini-tart with egg custard filling, will provide you with around 754 kilo calories, 3155 kilojoules of energy, 76 grams of carbohydrates, and 26 grams of total sugar.

The GSI says that current sugar consumption levels are a worldwide health concern. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends reducing the intake of free sugars to less than 10% of total energy intake and suggests that a further reduction to below 5% of total energy intake would provide additional health benefits.
